How do I properly reboot my modem or digital box?

To reboot a digital settop (non DVR):Step 1: Shut your TV off. Step 2: Hold the power button in on your digital box until the word BOOT comes up on the display or until the display goes blank. Only takes a few moments. Step 3: When the correct time comes back up on the display, turn your TV and digital box back on. You are going to have a "Passport" screen showing; it also will take a couple of moments for it to download information. When it’s finished you will have you picture and sound back. Recheck to see if you are still experiencing the same problem. Once you have the computer booted up, check to see if you can get into email and/or internet. If you have more than 1 computer, and you have a router/hub involved you’ll need to unplug the router/hub as well when unplugging the modem.
